How to Enable Public Intake and Patient Self-Scheduling in MedMe

How to turn on settings that allow patients to book themselves in for appointments

This article explains how to enable or disable Public Intake in MedMe. It covers the steps to allow patients to self-schedule their own appointments.

What Is Public Intake?

Public Intake allows patients to book appointments directly through the MedMe platform.

This feature is useful for:

  • Flexibility in service offerings

  • Managing seasonal demand (e.g., flu shots)

  • Resource and workflow planning

  • Prioritizing specific services

How to Enable or Disable Public Intake

  1. Click the ellipses (three dots) on the left-hand panel.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Click on the Appointment Types tab.

  4. Choose the Appointment Type that needs to be adjusted.

  5. Toggle Enable public intake ON to allow patients to self-schedule.

Please Note: If appointment types are not visible to patients after enabling Public Intake, ensure that availability is correctly set up for these appointment types.

Important Notes About Public Intake and Waitlist

Warning: If the Waitlist Appointments toggle is enabled for an appointment type, patients will not be able to self-schedule.

  • Instead, they will be added to the waitlist and notified when appointments become available.
