A. Begin minor ailment assessment through MedMe

Before an assessment, edit the patient's profile in MedMe to ensure that the following fields have been filled in:

  • First and Last Name

  • Date of Birth

  • Sex Assigned at Birth

  • Address (City, Street, Province, and Postal Code)

  • Select Save

Once a Minor Ailments appointment type available in MAPflow has been booked through MedMe, access the MAPflow tool by opening the patient's profile. In the Minor Ailments Consultation section, click Start to launch the tool. Click Continue to MAPflow to open MAPflow.

Important: To access the MAPflow tool, a new tab will open in the browser. All documentation MUST be saved in the MAPflow tab to appear in MedMe.

B. Complete minor ailment assessment through MAPflow

MAPflow will open in the new tab with a New Assessment already started for the patient you are currently assessing. The ailment will also be pre-populated.

Complete this New Assessment section and scroll down to click Create Assessment. From here, you can complete the minor ailment assessment as you usually would through MAPflow.

For each ailment, the platform will take you through five steps of the care process:

  • Collect patient information related to their clinical presentation, health history, and social history

  • Assess the patient’s signs and symptoms to classify their condition

  • Plan non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic strategies for the patient’s care plan

  • Implement counselling points related to the minor ailment and individualized therapeutic plan

  • Follow-up plan creation to continue monitoring the patient and how to best advise minor ailment management

Once the final care process step has been completed, click Confirm to generate a summary of assessment details as part of the Minor Ailment Assessment Record on MAPflow.

Please Note: Assessment completion must be confirmed. Otherwise, the Minor Ailment Assessment Record will not be generated, and documentation will not transfer to MedMe.

C. View assessment information on MedMe

Once the assessment has been completed on MAPflow, navigate back to your MedMe tab and click Refresh files to transfer documentation into MedMe.

After this, PDF files of the minor ailments assessment record and prescription can be viewed and printed through MedMe under the Minor Ailment Consultation section of the patient's profile.

D. Updating the minor ailments assessment

To change the assessment documentation, click the Update button in the Minor Ailments Consultation section. This will prompt you to leave Continue to MAPflow and open a new tab leading directly to that specific consultation in MAPflow.

Make updates in MAPflow and then save assessment details following the same process as initial assessment completion. Clicking Confirm when the assessment is complete will update the Minor Ailment Assessment Record in MAPflow. After this, navigate to your MedMe account and Refresh files to update the documentation.
