The Reserve with Google integration enhances visibility of clinical services offered by pharmacies and streamlines the booking process, helping your pharmacy stand out and increasing your patient reach.

By listing available services directly within you pharmacy's Google Business Profile and adding shortcuts to your booking page, patients can easily discover your pharmacy and begin booking appointments. This article provides more information on the integration and troubleshooting instructions.

Table of Contents

1. Introduction to Reserve with Google

This integration adds a “Book Online” button on your Google Business Profile that can be viewed when a patient searches for a pharmacy on Google Search or Google Maps. When patients click the 'Book Online' button, they will be re-directed to your MedMe booking page.

By making the booking online more convenient, your pharmacy can convert people casually browsing your pharmacy into patients utilizing your clinical expertise.

A “Services” tab is also added to your Google Business Profile for visitors searching on a mobile device, displaying all of the clinical services your pharmacy offers. This boosts your pharmacy’s visibility and discoverability on Google while offering patients a quick overview of services they may not have known fall within a pharmacist's scope of practice.

2. Enabling Reserve with Google / Integration Requirements

The Reserve with Google integration has been enabled for all pharmacies using MedMe. It should be connected to your Google Business profile automatically if the following requirements are met:

  • Your pharmacy has a Google Business Profile that has been verified

    • Follow steps in section 3 to learn more about your Google Business Profile

  • Details in following fields are exactly the same between MedMe and your Google Business Profile

    • Business name

    • Business address

    • Business phone number

Note that any slight variation in these details may prevent the integration from working. If there is a mismatch in any of the fields and you are unable to view the integration “Book Online” button and “Services” tab within your Google Business Profile, please follow integration troubleshooting instructions in section 3.

If these requirements are met, you should be able to view a “Book Online” button as well as a “Services” tab within your Google Business Profile.

Please note that any changes made to your Service offerings (i.e., adding or removing an appointment type from your calendar) within MedMe will take up to 24 hours to be reflected in the “Services” tab in Google Search for mobile web visitors.

3. Integration Troubleshooting

If you are unable to view the integration in your Google Business Profile, please verify that the following requirements are being met:

A. Google Business Profile is set up and verified

A Google Business Profile is a tool within Google that displays your business’s key information such as address, phone number, reviews, and hours of operation. This profile can be viewed by anyone that searches for your business within Google Search or Google Maps.

If your business profile is not yet set up or verified on Google, there is no place for Reserve with Google to be integrated. Follow our guide here on setting up your business on Google.

Once your profile has been set up, please allow up to 14 days for the integration to be visible on your Google Business Profile.

If you are not able to see the “Book Online” button or “Services” tab within your profile, follow instructions below to ensure your business details between MedMe and Google match.

B. Business details match between MedMe and your Google Business Profile

MedMe sends the business name, address, and phone number that are typically displayed on your patient facing booking page to Google. If there is any mismatch in either of these three fields between MedMe and your Google Business Profile, Google cannot confidently identify the right business profile to add the integration.

To verify or update your business information on MedMe to match your profile, follow the steps below.

  1. Compare the following details on your booking page and Google Business Profile:

    1. Business name

    2. Address

    3. Phone number

  2. If there is a mismatch in details, contact our support team via the chat widget on the bottom right of the pharmacist dashboard with the correct information.

  3. We will send the updated details to Google. The integration should appear on your Google Business Profile in about a week.

    • Note that the details displayed on your MedMe booking page will not be altered in this process.

C. Other Issues

If you are still unable to view the integration “Book Online” button and “Services” tab after confirming that your Google Business Profile is set and the information between MedMe and your profile is the same:

  • Ensure that you have opted out of any other previously used booking platform

  • Remove any links in the “Preferred Links” section of your Google Business Profile

    • To find this section in your Google Business profile, follow Google Help instructions here

The integration should be visible within 1-3 days of these changes.

4. Disabling Reserve with Google

If you wish to opt out of this integration, your Google Business Profile will no longer display a “Book Online” button that allows patients to easily be re-directed to your booking page from Google Search and Google Maps. The “Services” tab will also be removed.

To disable the integration, follow the steps below.

  1. In your MedMe account, navigate to Settings and select the Integrations tab under the User section

  2. Click the toggle icon in the “Reserve with Google” tile to disable the integration.

  3. Confirm that you would like the integration to be disabled.

  4. Allow up to 5 business days for your request to be processed.

If you later wish to enable the integration, simply click the toggle icon on and verify your pharmacy details match the fields displayed in your Google Business Profile.
