Learn how to quickly & easily leverage Google My Business to help patients find your pharmacy & learn about your services

Your patients are online, searching for health services and access to information in their neighbourhood. Without a digital presence, you're missing out on easy revenue from people who already want your services. Google My Business is a free-to-use, simple tool to increase your digital presence in Google Search and Google Maps!

Set up Your Account

  1. Sign in to Google using your business email address

  2. Type in your business name to find the listing for your business or click "Add your business to Google" if your pharmacy does not appear when searched

    1. If someone else has previously claimed your business you can request access or recover your account if you don't have access to that email address

  3. Search for Pharmacy as your business category

  4. Update your pharmacy information including:

    1. Your Service Area (consider adding areas within your delivery zone)

    2. Your Phone Number & Website

    3. Your address (drop a pin on the map if your pharmacy is tricky to find)

  5. Choose a method to verify you are the owner (video call, email, phone or text, postcard), and wait to become verified. (This process may take some time depending on the verification method chosen)


Key Features

Images

As the business account manager for your Google My Business listing you can update the images & logos that appear on your listing to increase your listing's visual appeal & help patients easily recognize your pharmacy.

  1. Start by signing in to your Google My Business Account

  2. Select "Edit Profile" and then "Cover Photo or Logo"

  3. Add an image of your store logo and an informative cover photo

    The Cover Photo and Logo will be some of the first images potential customers see when they look at your pharmacy listing. Choose a cover photo that is informative and welcoming such as an image of the front entrance to your pharmacy with your staff members standing in front.

  4. Next select "Promote" and then "Photo"

  5. Upload images to add them to your listing

    Include images that communicate more information about your pharmacy and the services you offer. Some potential shots could include images of your front store area, blood pressure monitoring devices or compression sock fittings. Make sure any images you choose to use are well lit and you have permission from anyone whose face is visible.


Services Editor

As a health related business, in Google My Business you have the opportunity to customize the types of services offered at your pharmacy. Potential customers will be able to quickly scan your list of services to find what they need.

  1. Start by signing into your Google My Business Account

  2. Find "Info" within the menu

  3. Find the "Services" section and click "Edit"

  4. Add your services & click save

    Include all of the services offered at your pharmacy! This list will help interested customers find your pharmacy when they search for providers of these services such as prescription delivery, compliance packaging, smoking cessation and more.

    Consider adding a Custom Appointment Type for these services in your MedMe platform!


Posts Editor

Creating posts allows you to update potential customers on useful information such as if you're running specialty health clinic days or when you start accepting online bookings for services in your pharmacy using your MedMe Custom Appointments.

  1. Start by signing in to your Google My Business Account

  2. Find "Promote" within the menu

  3. In the box that appears, type your post

  4. Click "Publish" in the top-right corner of the screen

    Posts will automatically be archived after 6 months unless you access the post from your business account and change how long it should remain visible. Keep your posts short, 1-2 sentences, and include an action item for potential customers.

Reserve with Google

Make sure you are opted into our Reserve with Google integration. The integration adds a "Services" tab and "Book Online" button to your Google My Business profile, allowing customers to easily access your MedMe booking page when they search for your pharmacy in Google Search or Google Maps. This enhances visibility of your pharmacy offerings and streamlines the appointment booking process.
