Overview

The Command Palette is a single search bar that opens on top of whatever page you’re on. Start typing and it instantly surfaces matching patients, pages, and actions. Choose a result and MedMe takes you straight there — no menus, no extra clicks.

Tip: Think of it as a shortcut to everything. If you know what you want to do, you can usually get there faster by typing it than by clicking.

Opening the Command Palette

Press the keyboard shortcut from anywhere in MedMe:

  • On Mac: Command (⌘) + K

  • On Windows: Control (Ctrl) + K

The Command Palette opens with the cursor already in the search bar, showing the prompt “Search patients, pages, or actions…”. Press Escape or click outside the window to close it.

Please Note: The Command Palette is available on desktop and laptop computers only. It is not available on tablets, phones, or small browser windows.

What You Can Do

As you type, results are grouped so you can find what you need quickly:

  • Patients — Search by name to open a patient’s profile or book an appointment for them.

  • Navigation — Jump to any page in your sidebar, such as Dashboard, Patients, Calendar, Appointments, Claims, Forms, Reports, and Settings.

  • Create — Start a common task, such as Create Appointment, Create Patient, or Start Scribing (if AI Scribe is enabled for your pharmacy).

  • On This Page — Shows shortcuts relevant to the page you’re currently on. For example, while viewing a patient’s profile you’ll see “Add Appointment for [patient name]”.

  • Recent — When you first open the palette, your most recently used actions appear so you can repeat them in one step.

  • Upcoming Appointments — Quickly open the profile of a patient with an appointment coming up.

Searching for a Patient

  1. Open the Command Palette with Command/Control + K.

  2. Type at least two letters of the patient’s name.

  3. Matching patients appear under the Patients heading.

  4. Choose an action for the patient:

    • View Profile — Opens the patient’s profile.

    • Add Appointment for [name] — Opens the booking window with that patient already filled in.

Navigating with Your Keyboard

You can drive the whole Command Palette without touching your mouse:

  • Up / Down arrows — Move between results.

  • Enter — Open or run the highlighted result.

  • Escape — Close the Command Palette.

Recent and Upcoming

  • When you open the palette without typing anything, you’ll see your Recent actions and any Upcoming Appointments.

  • Recent actions are private to you and are cleared automatically after a period of inactivity.

Tips

  • You don’t need to type exact matches — partial names and page names work.

  • Use “On This Page” actions to save clicks while you’re already working in a patient’s profile or on the calendar.

Troubleshooting

If the Command Palette doesn’t open when you press Command/Control + K:

  • Make sure you’re on a desktop or laptop with a large enough browser window.

  • Confirm you’re signed in to the pharmacist side of MedMe.

  • Try refreshing the page.

If it still doesn’t appear, the feature may not yet be enabled for your pharmacy — contact MedMe Support.
