This article explains how pharmacy teams use the Claims page in MedMe to track every claim at the pharmacy across all patients. It covers the table columns, filters, sorting, pagination, opening a claim, and the actions available from each row.
Table of Contents
Overview
The Claims page is the pharmacy-wide view of claims. It lists claims for every patient at the pharmacy, newest first, with their current status, payer, and amounts. From here a pharmacist can create a claim, open any claim's details, edit or delete a draft, undo a queued submission, or cancel a claim.
Opening the Claims Page
Select Claims in the left navigation.
The page title shows a badge with the total number of claims at the pharmacy.
Select Add Claim in the top right to create a claim for any patient (see How to Create and Submit a Claim in MedMe).
Reading the Claims Table
The table shows a default set of columns. More columns are available from the Columns dropdown above the table (see Showing More Columns).
Column | Meaning | Shown by default |
Claim # | The claim's identifier. Hover to see the full value. Always shown, and stays pinned on the left when the table is scrolled sideways. | Yes (always) |
Patient | The patient's name. Select it to open the patient's profile on the Billing tab. | Yes |
Date of Service | The date the service on the claim was performed. | No |
Submitted | The date and time the claim was sent to the clearinghouse. Empty for Draft and Ready for Submission claims. | Yes |
Created | The date the claim was first created or saved as a draft. | No |
Status | The claim's current status chip. See Understanding Claim Statuses and Actions in MedMe. | Yes |
Payer | The insurance the claim was billed to. | Yes |
Rendering Provider | The pharmacist (or organization) who performed the service. | No |
Billing Provider | The pharmacy (or practitioner) that receives payment. | No |
Referring Provider | The prescriber who referred the patient, if one was added to the claim. | No |
Place of Service | The CMS place-of-service code on the claim, for example 01 - Pharmacy. | No |
Total Billed | The sum of the service line charge amounts. | Yes |
Total Paid | The amount paid by the payer so far. Shows a dash until a remittance is received. | Yes |
⋯ (Row actions) | The actions available for the claim's status. | Yes (always) |
The table shows 25 claims per page. Use the page numbers at the bottom to move between pages.
Showing More Columns
Not every column is shown by default. To see all the columns that are available:
Select Columns above the table.
Check a column to show it, or uncheck it to hide it. Scroll the list to see every option. Claim # is always shown and cannot be unchecked.
Select Reset to Default at the bottom of the list to go back to the default columns.
Please Note: The column selection is saved in the browser. It is kept when the page is refreshed or reopened on the same computer and browser, but is not shared with other users or other devices.
Filtering and Sorting
Filters sit above the table. The Filters dropdown comes first and holds saved filters set up by MedMe. It is followed by the individual filters.
Saved filters: Timely filing
Payers only accept claims for a limited time after the date of service (for example, Medicare allows 12 months). The Timely filing filter lists the claims that still need action before that deadline, with the oldest first.
Select Filters above the table.
Under Default filters, select Timely filing.
The table shows Draft, Rejected, and Denied claims sorted by date of service, oldest first, and returns to page 1. The Filters button shows Timely filing and is highlighted, and the Status filter shows the statuses it applied.
To narrow the list, add another filter, such as a Payer. The oldest-first order is kept, and the Filters button goes back to showing Filters.
Sorting by the Submitted column replaces the oldest-first order.
Reset Filters clears the saved filter, every other filter, and any column sort.
Tip: Work through the Timely filing list from the top. The claims at the top of the list are the closest to the payer's filing deadline.
Please Note: To have another saved filter added for the pharmacy, contact the MedMe team.
Individual filters
Each filter only offers values that exist on the pharmacy's claims, so a selection never produces an empty list on its own.
Patient — search and select one or more patients that have claims.
Submitted — a date range: pick a number of days or a custom start and end date, then select Ok.
Status — select one or more statuses.
Payer — select one or more payers.
When more than one option is selected the filter collapses to a count, for example Status (3). Filters combine, so only claims matching all of them are shown.
Reset Filters appears when any filter is active. It clears all filters and returns the table to the default sort. Changing a filter returns to page 1.
Sorting: claims are ordered by creation date, newest first, so a draft created today sits above a claim submitted last week. Select the Submitted header to sort by submitted date newest first, again for oldest first, and a third time to return to the default. Claims that have not been submitted are listed last in either direction.
Tip: To find claims that need attention, filter Status to Rejected and Denied. To find claims still waiting to go out, filter to Draft and Ready for Submission.
Opening a Claim
Select anywhere on a row to open the Claim Details modal with the claim's summary, payment details, submitted values, and remittances. Selecting a Draft claim opens the Edit Claim modal instead, because a draft has not been submitted yet. Selecting the patient name, the status chip, or the row actions menu does not open the details. See How to Review Claim Details, Payments, and Remittances in MedMe.
Row Actions
Select ⋯ at the end of a row. The actions depend on the claim's status:
View Details — for every status except Draft.
Edit — for Draft, Rejected, Denied, and Partially Paid claims. Opens the Edit Claim modal over the page; the list refreshes when it closes.
Delete Draft Claim — for Draft claims. Permanently deletes the draft after confirmation.
Undo Submission — for Ready for Submission claims. Returns the claim to Draft (or its previous status) so it is not sent overnight.
Cancel Claim — for Accepted claims. Withdraws the claim from the payer.
The same actions are available on the patient's Billing tab and on the appointment's Claims card. See Understanding Claim Statuses and Actions in MedMe for the full matrix.
Deleting a draft claim
Select ⋯ on a Draft claim and select Delete Draft Claim.
In the confirmation, select Delete Draft Claim to delete it, or Keep Draft to go back.
The message Draft claim deleted. appears and the claim is removed from the list.
Warning: Deleting a draft permanently removes the draft and everything entered on it. This cannot be undone. Only drafts can be deleted; a claim that has been submitted can only be cancelled.
Where Else Claims Appear
Patient profile → Billing tab → Claims card — every claim for that patient, with a status filter and + to create one.
Patient profile → appointment tab → Claims card — only the claims linked to that appointment, with + to create one prefilled for it.
A claim shows the same status everywhere it appears.
Troubleshooting
"This pharmacy doesn't have any claims yet." No claims have been created. Select Add Claim or create one from an appointment.
"No claims match your filters." Select Clear Filters or widen the Submitted date range.
A claim I just submitted shows no Submitted date. Claims in Ready for Submission are sent overnight; the date is filled once the claim is Submitted.
I do not see a Claims item in the navigation. The Claims page is enabled per pharmacy; contact the MedMe RCM team.
I want to export the list or search by claim number. Export and free-text search are not available yet. Use the filters to narrow the list.
Conclusion
The Claims page gives every user at the pharmacy one place to see all claims, filter by patient, date, status, or payer, open a claim's details, and act on drafts, queued submissions, and submitted claims.
